Here are some used picnic table repurposing options you can try out:- Restore it. Instead of junking it, you can restore it to its former glory. You can use the process explained above or just refinish the wood. Strip the wood, sand it, and then apply stain or primer and paint.
- Transform it into a workbench. This doesn’t take too much effort and will give you a dedicated workspace. All you need to do is rework how it’s configured. Just remove the seating and then use the tabletop as a workbench. Or, remove the seats and raise the tabletop for improved use.
- Part it into benches. With just a little imagination and the right cuts and additions, you can create two or more benches. Then, place these elsewhere in the yard or put them somewhere else.
- Make it into a rustic dining table. Another option is to transform it into a rustic dining table. Revive it, and then use it inside. If it’s too large, consider taking the bench seats off the frame to alter it enough, restore it, and then use wood chairs to make it into a dining table.
