Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
The reality is that boat removal is often much tougher than it seems for Mediapolis area residents along the Mississippi River. Some older vessels often contain asbestos insulation. Our Teams take off the masts, clear out the boat’s gear and electronics and cut off the flybridge if needed. Larger boats usually need to be crushed or demolished before a landfill will take them - and our team takes care of that process. You just sit back - AAA Rousse takes care of the rest.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Around Lake Geode and the Big Hollow Recreation Area boat launch, owners regularly deal with vessels that have sat unused through harsh Iowa winters and are no longer seaworthy. Storm damage, hull rot, and expired registrations make removal urgent. Boats left at ramps or moored along the Mississippi River corridor often need immediate extraction before they become environmental or navigation hazards.
Along the Skunk River and smaller channels like Flint Creek, sunken or partially submerged hulls are a common call for our crews. Landside removals are just as frequent, with deteriorated boats abandoned on rural properties reachable via Iowa 99 requiring full dismantling and eco conscious disposal. Mediapolis residents count on us to manage the permits, logistics, and hauling from start to finish.
