Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Removing an old boat in Macomb near McDonough Lake often turns out to be more complicated than expected. Boats may contain fuel, oil, and chemicals that must be drained. The AAA Rousse crew will take down the mast, clear off the gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if we have to, to get the job done. The majority of larger vessels are not permitted in landfills unless they undergo crushing or demolition. Trust the AAA Rousse professionals to take care of everything.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals in Macomb most often involve vessels that have sat in residential driveways or backyards near the Lafayette Street corridor for seasons without moving. Owners contact us when registration lapses or a property sale forces the issue. We handle trailered boats, pontoons on blocks, and ski boats stored on private lots throughout the city with no water access needed.
A smaller share of removals involves boats left near the Southeastern Drive area or along the edges of McDonough County farm ponds where informal launches were used. Abandoned or damaged hulls occasionally surface after storm season, and owners call us to tow them from gravel lots or field edges. We coordinate safe extraction regardless of how remote or overgrown the storage spot has become.
