Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in Stookey tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required, especially for recoveries off the Mississippi River. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals in Stookey most often begin along the Mississippi River bottoms, where owners trailer vessels off low lying properties after seasonal flooding. Illinois Route 3, the main corridor through this part of St. Clair County, sees steady flatbed and trailer traffic as crews haul aging pontoons and johnboats from flooded driveways and gravel lots to safer ground during high water events each spring.
Owners with boats stored near the Cahokia Diversion Channel sometimes call for removal after storm damage or when selling a property. Lifts and seawalls along that waterway frequently hold vessels that have sat neglected for years. The nearby Fairmont City Road corridor also generates calls from rural parcels where a boat has outlasted its trailer, requiring a crew with equipment to extract and haul it away properly.
