Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat
Handling neglected boats along Nettle Creek and in Modoc requires skilled crews to ensure safe disposal. Burned-out hulls may collapse if moved improperly. Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Old boat disposal in Modoc often proves frustrating. There is usually limited access to docks or marinas along the Salamonie River for removal equipment. Our AAA Rousse marine team handles mast removal, gear and electronics stripping, and flybridge cutting when required. Most landfills won’t accept larger vessels in one piece, which means they need to be crushed or demolished first. Our crews handle the entire process safely and efficiently, so you don’t have to worry about the details. Sit back, AAA Rousse has it covered.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Mississinewa Lake is one of the most common calls we receive, as aging pontoons and motorboats are left to deteriorate on shore or in the water after seasons of neglect. Owners along Nettle Creek also contact us frequently when waterlogged hulls become stuck in shallow stretches or tangled in overgrowth, making standard towing impossible without specialized equipment.
Salvage work on the Salamonie River brings another layer of complexity, with sunken vessels requiring lift equipment and careful coordination with property owners and local officials. In Modoc Township, land based removals are equally common, where old boats sit in fields or along State Road 1 corridor properties, needing flatbed extraction and responsible disposal before they become safety or environmental hazards.
