Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
What seems like a quick fix, getting rid of an old boat in Amherst, can become complicated. There is always a risk of spills into waterways or streets from fuel while transporting near Lucerne-in-Maine. Our AAA Rousse Team will take down the masts, remove all gear and electronics, and, when necessary, detach the flybridge. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels as-is, we handle the crushing or demolition when needed. Let us do the heavy lifting - AAA Rousse has it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boats left sitting on trailers along the shores of Toddy Pond or tied to posts at the Lucerne Public Boat Landing are among the most common removal requests crews see in this part of Hancock County. Owners often let vessels sit through a winter or two until rot and waterlogging make moving them a real job requiring equipment and experience.
Sunken or partially submerged hulls recovered from the coves off Phillips Lake present another frequent scenario, especially after storm seasons shift debris. Aging pontoons stored behind camps near the Beech Hill Pond access area are also regularly flagged for removal when estates are settled or camp properties change hands, requiring careful extraction from tight wooded lots.
