Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in Thompson along the Manistique River tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Common removal scenarios in Thompson range from sunken vessels along the marshy shoreline near Big Spring to abandoned pontoon boats left sitting on trailers at Millecoquins Lake. Seasonal ice damage, expired registrations, and ownership disputes often complicate retrieval. Owners who act quickly avoid escalating storage fees and potential citations under Schoolcraft County environmental ordinances protecting local waterways.
Situations along the Sturgeon River corridor include boats that drift free during spring flooding and come to rest against private riparian land. Watercraft discovered on the banks of Gooseneck Lake with no registration numbers are treated as derelict under state law. Prompt reporting to local authorities ensures proper documentation and speeds the licensed removal process considerably.
