Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Summit boat owners are discovering that boat removal and disposal takes more time and effort than they realized. Shallow waters or sandbars along the Bogue Chitto River in Summit can make boat transport very difficult. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Because landfills generally do not take large vessels as-is, extra steps like crushing or dismantling are required. We manage this process from start to finish, ensuring your boat is prepared and accepted without hassle. Stress-free boat removal? Leave it to us.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Summit often begins when owners find old hulls sitting in flooded low spots along the Bogue Chitto River corridor or tied off at aging piers on Percy Quin State Park lake frontage. Neglected aluminum fishing boats and rotting pontoons are common calls, especially after heavy rain seasons push debris onto private land and make trailering nearly impossible without professional equipment.
A second wave of removals comes from estates and rural properties near the Homochitto National Forest boundary, where boats stored on trailers for years have sunk into soft ground and cannot be rolled out. Owners selling land along the Tangipahoa River watershed also call for dock clearance when transferring titles, requiring full dismantling and eco conscious haul off before closing.
