Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat
Boat removal services in Sunfish must be carried out by professionals to be done right. Boats with seized engines are heavy and difficult to transport. Professionals use winches, cranes, and tow rigs to remove them safely. Strict local ordinances near Scioto Trail State Forest, difficult towing arrangements, and disposal laws can slow removal efforts.

Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Sunfish boat owners are discovering that boat removal and disposal takes more time and effort than they realized. Shallow waters or sandbars near Pike Lake State Park in Sunfish can make boat transport very difficult. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Because landfills generally do not take large vessels as-is, extra steps like crushing or dismantling are required. We manage this process from start to finish, ensuring your boat is prepared and accepted without hassle. Stress-free boat removal? Leave it to us.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Sunfish and across Pike County, many boat removal calls come from owners with vessels that have sat unused near Sunfish Creek or along the banks of Brush Creek for years. Deteriorating hulls, seized engines, and storm damage are the most common reasons owners finally seek removal. Flatboats and johnboats are especially frequent, left behind at Meldahl access points after flooding seasons.
Removals from land storage make up another large share of jobs in this area, particularly from properties near Shawnee State Forest where boats are hauled out and left in fields or tree lines. Pontoon boats pulled from Rocky Fork Lake after registration lapses are also common, as owners move away and leave vessels behind. Dock removals following storm damage round out the typical calls we receive.
