Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
The process of getting rid of a junk boat in Wharton is often more challenging than it first appears. Boats partially sunk in Flat Run are extremely difficult to lift, float, and tow. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Larger vessels often require demolition or crushing before they can be disposed of at a landfill. We take care of this step for you, making the entire removal and disposal process smooth and stress-free. AAA Rousse - we do it all, so you don’t have to.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Abandoned vessels in Wharton most often turn up along Honey Creek after seasonal flooding recedes, leaving watercraft stranded on muddy banks well beyond their owners' reach. Smaller jon boats and canoes are also found along the Little Scioto River corridor, where shifting currents push unregistered hulls into shallow bends. Wyandot County code enforcement typically initiates removal within 30 days of a confirmed report.
Once a vessel is reported near the Carey Boat Launch or discovered along Wyandot County Road 330 access points, the owner of record receives a certified notice before any tow is arranged. If no owner responds within the posted deadline, a licensed salvage contractor removes the craft at the owner's expense. Storage and disposal fees accrue daily until the matter is resolved through the county auditor's office.
