Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
What seems like a quick fix, getting rid of an old boat in Mountain View, can become complicated. There is always a risk of spills into waterways or streets from fuel while transporting, including near the North Fork Red River. Our AAA Rousse Team will take down the masts, remove all gear and electronics, and, when necessary, detach the flybridge. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels as-is, we handle the crushing or demolition when needed. Let us do the heavy lifting - AAA Rousse has it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Mountain View, boat removal most often begins when a vessel is found abandoned along South Fork Elk Creek or left unattended at a marina slip past its permitted stay. Owners sometimes surrender watercraft after mechanical failure leaves them unable to tow the boat home. Kiowa County code enforcement officers document the vessel, post a notice, and coordinate with a licensed removal contractor to haul it out safely.
Boats retrieved from the water are commonly transported to the Kiowa Boat Launch staging area for inspection before being moved to the Hobart Storage Yard, where they await title processing or auction. Heavily deteriorated fiberglass hulls may be sent directly to a recycling facility. Owners who reclaim vessels during the holding period must pay outstanding fees and provide proof of registration before the watercraft is released.
