Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Removing a worn-out boat in Poteet, especially one hauled out from Lake Atascosa access points, is rarely quick or simple. Rotting hulls fall apart during the removal process. Our crews dismantle masts, clear the boat of gear and electronics, and remove the flybridge if required. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Our team takes care of this for you safely and responsibly, so the process is simple, stress-free and environmentally sound. No stress, just AAA Rousse.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Poteet, boats are most often removed after storm events push watercraft onto private land or public access points along Frio River crossings used by local anglers. Trailers left without registration near Leming Road are another frequent trigger for removal requests. Owners sometimes abandon vessels after mechanical failure, leaving them partly submerged and blocking access for other recreational users.
Situations also arise along Somerset Road, where unregistered flat bottom boats are left on easements after seasonal flooding recedes across Atascosa County low water crossings. Debris entangled hulls near Charlotte Creek outflows create navigation and environmental hazards that prompt county officials to initiate the common boat removal process and notify registered owners before disposal proceeds.
