Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Rankin residents are discovering that an old, dilapidated boat past its prime isn’t easy to get off their hands. The large size and heavy weight of many boats are definitely a challenge while transporting. Our crews remove masts, strip the boat of its gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if necessary, with staging done at Rankin Yards. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels in one piece, we manage the crushing or demolition so you don’t have to worry about it. We handle it all - you just relax.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In the ranch country around Rankin, many boat removal calls involve forgotten vessels sitting in caliche storage lots or flood scoured draws near Antelope Creek. Owners who once used their boats seasonally on Lake Trammel often leave them on trailers for years until frames rust through and tires fail, making professional removal the only safe option.
Hauls along Upton County Road 304 present their own challenges, with low water crossings and soft shoulders that require heavy duty equipment and careful planning. Ranch ponds like McCamey Tank also generate removal requests when sunken or abandoned jon boats and flat bottoms need to be pulled from the water before they become an environmental or liability concern.
