Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Getting rid of a boat in Surry that's seen better days, including one stuck at Surry Marina, can be a real struggle. Unstable boat hulls create safety hazards during transport. Our AAA Rousse Team will take down the masts, remove all gear and electronics, and, when necessary, detach the flybridge. Bigger boats usually need a little extra work, like crushing or demolition, before a landfill will accept them. We handle that step carefully, making sure it’s done the right way for both you and the environment. Let AAA Rousse professionals handle it all.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal needs in Surry often arise along Chippokes Creek, where seasonal flooding leaves vessels stranded on mudflats or pushed into overhanging timber. Owners near Hog Island Wildlife Management Area frequently contact us after storms deposit abandoned skiffs and jon boats along restricted shorelines. Our team assesses each site, coordinates any required wildlife or environmental permits, and completes removal with minimal disturbance to sensitive habitat.
Derelict vessels also turn up at Cobham Wharf, where aging moorings allow poorly secured boats to drift and become obstacles for working watercraft. Gray's Creek sees similar issues each spring, when rising water floats unregistered hulls from low lying storage areas into the navigable channel. Surry County property owners rely on our licensed crew to handle documentation, salvage, and lawful disposal from start to finish.
