Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Athens residents near Keith Marina often discover that old boat disposal is anything but simple. Fiberglass disposal is challenging and limited in facilities. Our crews dismantle masts, clear the boat of gear and electronics, and remove the flybridge if required. Most large boats need to be crushed or dismantled before a landfill will accept them. We’ve got it covered - let AAA Rousse take care of everything for you.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal requests around Athens frequently involve vessels left sitting at the Thrift Brothers Marina ramp or along the banks of the Hiwassee River after floods or ownership disputes. The Tennessee Riverpark boat launch also sees abandoned hulls towed away each season, especially after harsh winters leave older fiberglass boats cracked and waterlogged beyond reasonable repair or resale value.
Many Athens residents store boats at facilities near Watts Bar Lake, only to find years later that the cost of repairs exceeds the vessel's worth. Owners near the McMinn County Fairgrounds area commonly call for dock and driveway pickups when estate sales or relocations leave behind pontoons and jon boats that no longer run and cannot be donated or sold privately.
