Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Disposing of an old boat in Bastian near Bland County Lake isn't as simple as it sounds. Permits may be required for towing or dismantling certain boats. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Large boats often need to be destroyed before a landfill will take them. The AAA Rousse team will take care of everything for you.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Bastian most often involves vessels left at Gose Mill Pond or pulled from stretches of the New River near the Wythe County line. Owners dealing with flood damage after heavy rains on Burke Garden Road find their hulls waterlogged and stranded, making professional extraction the only practical option. Rotting trailers and sunken decks add to the complexity of each recovery.
A second common scenario involves boats stored for years near Hunting Camp Creek that have deteriorated beyond repair, with owners simply needing them hauled away cleanly. Others come from small private ponds in the Brushy Mountain area where vessels have sat neglected for a decade or more. In both cases our crews manage the full process from extraction to documented eco conscious disposal.
