Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Removing an old boat in Berrien near the St. Joseph River often turns out to be more complicated than expected. Boats may contain fuel, oil, and chemicals that must be drained. The AAA Rousse crew will take down the mast, clear off the gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if we have to, to get the job done. The majority of larger vessels are not permitted in landfills unless they undergo crushing or demolition. Trust the AAA Rousse professionals to take care of everything.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals around the St. Joseph River corridor are among the most common calls we receive, with owners pulling neglected vessels from docks along Riverside Park and from low lying storage lots that flood seasonally. Hulls left too long in the river's backwaters deteriorate fast, and families often need a bonded crew to handle the haul legally and without damaging surrounding property.
Further inland, we regularly recover boats stored behind homes near Hickory Creek and trailered rigs abandoned at the Berrien County Youth Fair grounds area. Pontoons and fishing boats left on trailers for years become structurally compromised, and owners near the Ox Creek drainage corridor call us when a vehicle can no longer move the load safely on its own.
