Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Disposing of an old boat in Desert Shores isn’t as simple as it sounds. Permits may be required for towing or dismantling certain boats along Torres Avenue. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Large boats often need to be destroyed before a landfill will take them. The AAA Rousse team will take care of everything for you.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals in Desert Shores most often begin at the public launch ramp on Sea Garden Street, where owners pull deteriorating vessels from the water after years of exposure to the Salton Sea's harsh, hypersaline conditions. The corrosive environment accelerates hull damage, and many boats simply sit beached along the shoreline near the Sea Garden neighborhood until a removal crew is called in to haul them away.
Other jobs involve boats stored on private lots along Yacht Club Drive that have been abandoned or declared total losses due to salt corrosion. Crews transport these hulks across Imperial County roads to disposal facilities, navigating the sparse desert terrain carefully. Whether lifted from the water or dragged from a sandy lot, removals here demand equipment suited to the remote, sun baked conditions unique to this shoreline community.
