Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Empire residents often discover that old boat disposal is anything but simple. Fiberglass disposal along the Crystal River corridor is challenging and limited in facilities. Our crews dismantle masts, clear the boat of gear and electronics, and remove the flybridge if required. Most large boats need to be crushed or dismantled before a landfill will accept them. We’ve got it covered - let AAA Rousse take care of everything for you.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal in Empire most often involves watercraft left sitting too long at the Empire Bluffs trailhead area shoreline or pulled ashore along the Platte River after a season of use. Owners who stored vessels at Leelanau Fruit Company Road side lots also call when a hull becomes unregistered or unsalvageable. These situations require permitted haulers who understand local terrain and water access.
Watercraft abandoned on private land near the Shady Shores neighborhood or left at the North Bar Lake access point are among the most common calls we receive in this region. Seasonal residents departing after summer often leave pontoon boats or runabouts that deteriorate through winter. Leelanau County regulations require documented disposal, making professional removal essential for avoiding title and liability complications.
