Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Parting with an old boat in Kim isn't always a simple task, especially for craft pulled from Trinidad Lake. EPA guidelines for fuel, oil, and hazardous waste must be followed. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Most larger vessels cannot be accepted at landfills unless they are crushed or demolished. Let our AAA Rousse experts handle the entire process.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around this area most often involves vessels left near the Purgatoire River corridor, where seasonal flooding pushes craft onto banks or partially submerges hulls in shallow bends. Owners hauling from Two Buttes Reservoir also call us after storm damage leaves boats stranded on remote shorelines. These recoveries require heavy rigging and careful hazardous material handling before transport.
A second common scenario involves abandoned craft stored on rural ranch properties throughout Las Animas County, left behind after sales or estate settlements with no clear plan for disposal. The Apishapa River basin sees similar situations after high water seasons. In each case our crew coordinates permits, handles fuel drainage, and arranges full demolition or recycling to close the matter cleanly.
