Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Getting rid of a boat in Medford near Ship Pond that's seen better days can be a real struggle. Unstable boat hulls create safety hazards during transport. Our AAA Rousse Team will take down the masts, remove all gear and electronics, and, when necessary, detach the flybridge. Bigger boats usually need a little extra work, like crushing or demolition, before a landfill will accept them. We handle that step carefully, making sure it’s done the right way for both you and the environment. Let AAA Rousse professionals handle it all.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Owners on Long Pond and Ebeemee Lake frequently find aging motorboats and pontoons that have sat unused for years, waterlogged and too far gone to sell. Medford sits deep in timber country, so many vessels end up landlocked on remote properties, far from any paved road, making professional removal the only practical option for safe and legal disposal.
Abandoned boats are also common near the Appalachian Trail corridor where seasonal camps change hands and old hulls get left behind. Owners dealing with estate settlements around Onawa Lake often discover rotting sailboats or aluminum runabouts stored under tarps for decades. Piscataquis County regulations increasingly require documented disposal, pushing more families to call a licensed removal crew.
