Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Parting with an old boat in the Clinch Valley area of Mendota isn't always a simple task. EPA guidelines for fuel, oil, and hazardous waste must be followed. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Most larger vessels cannot be accepted at landfills unless they are crushed or demolished. Let our AAA Rousse experts handle the entire process.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal calls in this part of southwestern Virginia often come from owners whose vessels have sat too long along the banks of the Powell River or in low lying areas near Copper Ridge. Storm runoff and seasonal flooding leave hulls half submerged in places like the Clinchfield railroad corridor, making standard trailer retrieval impossible and requiring a professional salvage crew with the right equipment.
Other common scenarios involve neglected boats stored on private land near Big Moccasin Creek or left on trailers behind rural properties along the Clinch Mountain foothills. Owners sometimes inherit these vessels and have no means to move them. In each case our crew assesses the hull condition, secures any fuel or hazardous fluid, and coordinates legal disposal in full compliance with Washington County regulations.
