Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Disposing of an old boat in Momence near the Momence Wetlands isn't as simple as it sounds. Permits may be required for towing or dismantling certain boats. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Large boats often need to be destroyed before a landfill will take them. The AAA Rousse team will take care of everything for you.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Momence, most boat removal calls involve vessels that have been sitting on trailers in residential areas like the East Side neighborhood or along Illinois Route 1, waiting out the off season. Owners often need help after a motor failure or storm damage leaves a boat stranded and too heavy to move without professional rigging and transport equipment.
Boats launched from the Momence Riverfront Park boat ramp sometimes break down mid season and require emergency haul out. Owners storing vessels near the old downtown district along Broadway Street also call for removal when boats become non operational or are sold. Teams handle everything from loading waterlogged hulls to coordinating transport to a licensed disposal or salvage facility.
