Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Monterey residents near the Blanchard River often discover that old boat disposal is anything but simple. Fiberglass disposal is challenging and limited in facilities. Our crews dismantle masts, clear the boat of gear and electronics, and remove the flybridge if required. Most large boats need to be crushed or dismantled before a landfill will accept them. We’ve got it covered - let AAA Rousse take care of everything for you.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Monterey, common boat removal situations arise when vessels are found drifting or grounded along Cranberry Creek after seasonal flooding. Watercraft may also be abandoned near the Putnam County Fairgrounds access roads when owners relocate or face financial hardship. In these cases, Putnam County coordinators work with property owners to arrange timely, compliant removal before a vessel becomes a hazard.
Other removals stem from boats left unattended at the Ottoville Boat Launch well past the posted limit, prompting officials to initiate the standard notice and tow process. Along Lost Creek, submerged or partially sunken craft create navigation and environmental concerns that trigger emergency removal orders. Residents are encouraged to contact local authorities early to avoid fines and ensure safe, proper disposal of unwanted watercraft.
