Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
You might think it's easy, but removing a boat near Mosquito Lake in Nelson can be tricky. Limited disposal sites are always a problem. Our crew dismantles the mast, removes all equipment and electronics from the vessel, and, if necessary, detaches the fly bridge. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels in one piece, some prep work is required. We manage the entire process for you, so your boat is ready for disposal without any hassle. Boat removal made simple.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal in Nelson often starts with watercraft left idle along the shores of West Branch Reservoir, where neglected hulls sink into soft banks or become tangled in dock pilings. Owners of aging fishing boats tied at Wingfoot Lake State Park docks also call regularly, facing expired registrations and vessels no longer fit for use.
Seasonal storage situations create another wave of removals each year, particularly around Dix Road where trailers with deteriorating fiberglass hulls sit in yards and gravel lots long after owners have given up on repairs. Pontoons left behind at Portage Lakes marinas occasionally add to the workload, requiring coordinated crane lifts and careful transport through Portage County back roads.
