Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Parting with an old boat in Nokomis near the Nokomis Lake Access isn't always a simple task. EPA guidelines for fuel, oil, and hazardous waste must be followed. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Most larger vessels cannot be accepted at landfills unless they are crushed or demolished. Let our AAA Rousse experts handle the entire process.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Nokomis most often involves vessels left sitting at the Lake Nokomis public access or along the shores of Ramsey Lake, where owners have let aging hulls deteriorate over multiple seasons. Waterlogged aluminum fishing boats and old fiberglass runabouts are the most common types, many left behind after failed sale attempts or estate situations that dragged on for years.
Landlocked removals are equally common, with neglected boats stranded in residential yards off Illinois Route 16 and in rural storage lots throughout Montgomery County. Trailers with rotted decking and cracked hulls often require cutting and sectioning before transport is possible. Our crew handles the full process from disconnecting old fuel lines to final disposal, no matter how long the boat has been sitting.
