Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat

Getting rid of an unwanted boat in Homestead is a process that needs to be done by a professional crew. Storm-damaged boats are often unstable, partially submerged, or leaking fuel in the Flint Hills region. Only trained professionals with the right equipment can safely haul and dispose of them without causing more property or environmental damage. Local laws, transport logistics, and disposal steps often add time to the job.

Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal

Disposing of an old boat at Chase County Lake in Homestead isn't as simple as it sounds. Permits may be required for towing or dismantling certain boats. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Large boats often need to be destroyed before a landfill will take them. The AAA Rousse team will take care of everything for you.

Common Boat Removal Scenarios

Boat removal around Homestead most often involves vessels left too long along the Cottonwood River, where seasonal flooding can strand hulls on muddy banks or lodge them against low crossings. Owners also call us after a canoe or flat bottom jon boat deteriorates at Chase County Lake, where trailering a waterlogged hull off a steep ramp without the right equipment is a serious safety risk.

Rural storage situations are equally common across Chase County, with aging motorboats and pontoons sitting forgotten behind barns or in open fields near the Flint Hills grasslands. Many of these vessels have been out of the water for years, their trailers rusted solid and their hulls compromised, making a professional haul the only practical option for getting them off the property safely and legally.

Prompt, came out same day within a few hours of calling them. They were very careful while moving the junk. Friendly. Takes all forms of payment. I plan on calling them again. Mark and Christina came the next trip to remove more junk. They were very professional, quick, worked hard, and even swept the mess left from the junk on the garage floor.

This company is excellent! Removing this old 18 ft motor home was not an easy task. It had been sitting in the same spot for 26 years so needless to say it was literally falling apart and imbedded in the ground. The 2 men who removed it were so patient and professional taking care not to tear up the yard while doing so, not to mention it was one of our hottest days. They deserve 10 stars or more in my book!

The team did a wonderful job clearing out 2 of our office suites. Both suites contained about 40+ cubicles, 11 executives offices, at 3 conference rooms. It took about a week to get everything out of there but they were fair and always updated me throughout the day. They also sent pictures to make sure I knew they were filling the trailer up (they charge by the load).
