Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
The reality is that boat removal along the Victoria Barge Canal is often much tougher than it seems for Placedo area residents. Some older vessels often contain asbestos insulation. Our Teams take off the masts, clear out the boat’s gear and electronics and cut off the flybridge if needed. Larger boats usually need to be crushed or demolished before a landfill will take them - and our team takes care of that process. You just sit back - AAA Rousse takes care of the rest.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Placedo most often involves vessels left idle on the Powderhorn Lake shoreline or drifting near Mission Lake after storms push them off moorings. Owners also call when sunken hulls block fishing access along the Garcitas Creek channel. These situations require prompt, professional extraction before environmental damage spreads or local navigation is disrupted.
Deteriorating boats stored on private land off State Highway 185 are another common call for our crews, particularly after flood seasons leave hulls half buried in mud. We also handle recoveries from the Arenosa Creek watershed, where abandoned vessels collect debris and create hazards. Victoria County waterway rules require timely removal, and our team is equipped to meet every deadline.
