Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Potrero boat owners are discovering that boat removal and disposal takes more time and effort than they realized. Shallow waters or sandbars along Cottonwood Creek in Potrero can make boat transport very difficult. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Because landfills generally do not take large vessels as-is, extra steps like crushing or dismantling are required. We manage this process from start to finish, ensuring your boat is prepared and accepted without hassle. Stress-free boat removal? Leave it to us.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal in this corner of San Diego County most often starts with aging vessels that have sat unused along the shores of Lake Morena or at the Lake Morena County Park boat launch. Owners who once used those waters for weekend fishing or recreation find themselves facing registration fees on boats that no longer run, prompting them to call for full removal and disposal before fines accumulate.
Storm damage is another common trigger, as heavy seasonal rains push debris down Cottonwood Creek and leave hulls stranded or waterlogged in low lying areas near Potrero. In cases like these, our crews coordinate with property owners near Barrett Lake to extract sunken or grounded vessels using winches and flatbed rigs, then haul them out for eco conscious dismantling and proper disposal.
