Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Getting rid of a boat in Rome that's seen better days — whether stored near the Lake Geode marina area or parked on a back lot — can be a real struggle. Unstable boat hulls create safety hazards during transport. Our AAA Rousse Team will take down the masts, remove all gear and electronics, and, when necessary, detach the flybridge. Bigger boats usually need a little extra work, like crushing or demolition, before a landfill will accept them. We handle that step carefully, making sure it’s done the right way for both you and the environment. Let AAA Rousse professionals handle it all.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around the Lake Geode area is one of the most common calls we handle. Vessels left at the Geode State Park boat ramp or pulled onto nearby shore after a rough season often sit unregistered and deteriorate quickly. Owners find themselves facing county notices and no clear path to disposal, making professional removal the only practical solution.
Along the Skunk River corridor, abandoned johnboats and small motorboats are frequently discovered on private land or near informal launch points after flooding. The Henry County bottomlands can make access difficult, and standard towing equipment cannot always reach these sites. Our crews bring the rigging and experience needed to extract vessels from challenging terrain and complete compliant disposal.
