Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in Sidney near the Homer Lake Forest Preserve Boat Launch tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boats left at Lake of the Woods or brought to Homer Lake often end up abandoned when owners lose interest or face costly repairs. The Homer Lake Forest Preserve Boat Launch sees older pontoons and jon boats left behind after seasons of neglect. These situations call for prompt removal to keep public access clear and prevent deterioration into the water.
Along the Sangamon River, flooding and shifting water levels regularly strand vessels on banks or lodge them against debris, creating urgent recovery jobs. Smaller craft along Saline Branch also get stranded after high water events. Owners dealing with sunken or waterlogged hulls in Sidney often need a full salvage team with lifting equipment to safely recover and dispose of the wreck.
