Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in Superior near the Pioneer Boat Landing tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Superior and the surrounding area, one of the most common removal scenarios involves vessels left unattended along the Tiffin River after seasonal flooding shifts boat positions onto private or public banks. Owners sometimes abandon watercraft when retrieval becomes costly or complicated. In these cases, Williams County officials coordinate with state agencies to document, tag, and arrange timely removal of the abandoned vessels.
Another frequent situation occurs at Lake LaGrange and the Edgerton Boat Launch, where trailers and boats are occasionally left beyond permitted periods. Watercraft with expired registrations or structural damage are flagged for removal to keep access points clear and safe. Property owners and local authorities work together to notify titleholders and, when necessary, arrange for towing and proper disposal of unclaimed boats.
