Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Taft residents are discovering that an old, dilapidated boat past its prime isn’t easy to get off their hands. The large size and heavy weight of many boats are definitely a challenge while transporting from the Taft Boat Launch. Our crews remove masts, strip the boat of its gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if necessary. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels in one piece, we manage the crushing or demolition so you don’t have to worry about it. We handle it all - you just relax.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Taft often starts at Buena Vista Lake, where vessels left on trailers or partially sunk near the shoreline require prompt extraction before they become a liability. The Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area boat launch sees abandoned craft blocking ramps, and owners frequently call us after a registration lapse or flood damage leaves a hull unsalvageable without professional equipment.
Inland oil field activity around the Midway Sunset oil field district means work boats and utility vessels are routinely decommissioned and left on private lots or dirt roads near Ten Section Road. Owners dealing with estate sales or business closures rely on us to remove these heavy hulls from tight, unpaved access points, completing disposal in compliance with Kern County environmental rules.
