Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Disposing of old boats in Thomaston near the Mad River can be a real headache. Heavy restrictions on where many larger boats can be taken. Landfills typically won’t accept larger vessels unless they’ve been crushed or demolished. With AAA Rousse, you can relax - we’ll manage it all.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals in Thomaston most often involve trailered vessels stored on residential properties near the Naugatuck River corridor. Owners hauling aging pontoons or fishing boats typically stage the pickup along Main Street, where flatbed access is straightforward. Our crew assesses weight and condition on site before securing the hull for transport to a licensed disposal facility.
A second common scenario involves boats left dormant beside the Naugatuck River itself, particularly near the Rt 6 bridge where informal shore access has made long term storage tempting. Owners in the Reynolds Bridge area occasionally contact us after a boat has sat untouched for years, waterlogged and beyond repair, requiring full teardown and debris removal once the vessel is retrieved from the bank.
