Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Removing an old boat in Vermillion near the Buffalo Rock State Park launch often turns out to be more complicated than expected. Boats may contain fuel, oil, and chemicals that must be drained. The AAA Rousse crew will take down the mast, clear off the gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if we have to, to get the job done. The majority of larger vessels are not permitted in landfills unless they undergo crushing or demolition. Trust the AAA Rousse professionals to take care of everything.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Most boat removals in Vermillion involve vessels kept along the riverbank or on trailers near the Vermillion River, where the waterway feeds into the broader valley corridor. Owners pulling boats after the season often stage near Route 178, which provides direct access to the water for transport trucks and trailers without requiring extensive maneuvering through narrow local roads.
Boats stored on private lots off Route 71 in LaSalle County are another common pickup scenario, particularly after flood events push water onto low lying properties. When water recedes, owners need prompt removal before ground softens further. Given the small scale of the area, most jobs involve a single vessel on a trailer or resting on blocks near a riverside access point.
