Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Versailles residents are discovering that an old, dilapidated boat past its prime isn’t easy to get off their hands. The large size and heavy weight of many boats are definitely a challenge while transporting, even along Elm Street. Our crews remove masts, strip the boat of its gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if necessary. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels in one piece, we manage the crushing or demolition so you don’t have to worry about it. We handle it all - you just relax.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat owners along Meredosia Lake and the Illinois River regularly need removal help after storms leave hulls swamped or stranded on the banks. Vessels that drift into shallow coves near Bay Creek become difficult to trailer out without professional equipment. Aging pontoons and motorboats in these areas are often abandoned once repair costs exceed the value of the boat.
Storage lots near Lake Mauvaisterre fill up with neglected boats that owners no longer register or insure, creating liability concerns. Versailles Lake sees seasonal turnover where buyers upgrade and leave old fiberglass hulls behind with no clear disposal plan. Mauvaisterre Creek access points also draw boats that get grounded during low water, requiring crane lifts and coordinated haul outs to clear them safely.
