Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat
Boat removal services in Wales must be carried out by professionals to be done right. Boats with seized engines are heavy and difficult to transport near the Dead River. Professionals use winches, cranes, and tow rigs to remove them safely. Strict local ordinances, difficult towing arrangements, and disposal laws can slow removal efforts.

Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Wales boat owners are discovering that boat removal and disposal takes more time and effort than they realized. Shallow waters or sandbars along the Androscoggin River in Wales can make boat transport very difficult. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Because landfills generally do not take large vessels as-is, extra steps like crushing or dismantling are required. We manage this process from start to finish, ensuring your boat is prepared and accepted without hassle. Stress-free boat removal? Leave it to us.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
In Wales, abandoned boats are most often found along the shores of Pocasset Lake and Threemile Pond, where seasonal camps change hands and owners sometimes leave watercraft behind. When a vessel is found unregistered or blocking public access, Androscoggin County officials coordinate with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to document, tag, and schedule removal through a licensed marine contractor.
Derelict boats near Cobbosseecontee Stream are another common concern, particularly after spring flooding shifts lighter craft onto private or municipal land. Owners are notified by certified mail using registration records, and unclaimed vessels are hauled out via Route 9 to a designated storage yard where disposal or auction follows a mandatory waiting period under Maine state law.
