Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
The reality is that boat removal is often much tougher than it seems for Wedowee area residents hauling out from the Clay County Boat Launch side of the reservoir. Some older vessels often contain asbestos insulation. Our Teams take off the masts, clear out the boat’s gear and electronics and cut off the flybridge if needed. Larger boats usually need to be crushed or demolished before a landfill will take them - and our team takes care of that process. You just sit back - AAA Rousse takes care of the rest.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal requests around here often start at R.L. Harris Reservoir, where aging vessels are left tied to docks or resting on submerged ledges after years of neglect. Wedowee Marina sees similar calls when slip holders abandon deteriorated hulls, leaving owners and managers scrambling for a compliant removal solution. Storm damage and title complications make these waterfront recoveries especially involved.
On land, removals frequently come from private lakefront properties along the Lake Wedowee shoreline, where old pontoons and jon boats have sat on trailers or in overgrown yards for seasons. The Highrock Lake access points in the broader Randolph County area also generate calls from landowners dealing with inherited or donated vessels they cannot legally register or easily transport to a disposal facility.
