Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat
Boat removal services in Mermentau must be carried out by professionals to be done right. Boats with seized engines are heavy and difficult to transport along Grand Marais Canal access points. Professionals use winches, cranes, and tow rigs to remove them safely. Strict local ordinances, difficult towing arrangements, and disposal laws can slow removal efforts.

Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Mermentau boat owners are discovering that boat removal and disposal takes more time and effort than they realized. Shallow waters or sandbars along Bayou Queue de Tortue in Mermentau can make boat transport very difficult. AAA Rousse’s crew handles all the dismantling: removing masts, stripping electronics and gear, and cutting the flybridge if required. Because landfills generally do not take large vessels as-is, extra steps like crushing or dismantling are required. We manage this process from start to finish, ensuring your boat is prepared and accepted without hassle. Stress-free boat removal? Leave it to us.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal calls around Mermentau most often involve vessels left idling at Pelican Point Landing or sunk along the edges of the Mermentau River levee roads after seasonal flooding. Owners who stored old motorboats and pontoons near Bayou des Cannes frequently discover hull deterioration or expired registrations that make relicensing impractical, prompting full removal and disposal.
Storm damage is a recurring trigger, as surge and wind events push vessels off trailers and into the marsh grass bordering the Lacassine Pool spillway gates and connecting cuts. Derelict hulls near the Plaquemine Brule channel also surface regularly, requiring crane access and careful extraction to meet Acadia Parish environmental disposal standards without disturbing the surrounding wetlands.
