Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat
Removing an unwanted boat in Bernice takes a professional crew, including when access runs along Highway 2, to do it right. Old boats frequently have rotten wood, rusted parts, or brittle fiberglass. Professional crews know how to dismantle and dispose of them correctly without injury or contamination. Local restrictions, towing logistics, and disposal regulations can slow down boat removal.

Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Parting with an old boat in Bernice isn't always a simple task, especially when the hull has settled into soft ground along Caney Creek. EPA guidelines for fuel, oil, and hazardous waste must be followed. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Most larger vessels cannot be accepted at landfills unless they are crushed or demolished. Let our AAA Rousse experts handle the entire process.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Common removal situations in Bernice often involve vessels left along Corney Lake after fishing seasons end. Owners sometimes abandon aging jon boats or pontoons near Bayou Corney when repairs become too costly. Whether a craft sank at a private dock or was simply left on the bank, Union Parish code enforcement can initiate removal proceedings and connect owners with licensed salvage professionals.
Boats that drift or are abandoned along Lake Union following storm events present another frequent challenge for local waterway managers. Vessels recovered near the Ouachita River corridor may require coordination between state wildlife agents and removal contractors. In each case, prompt action protects water quality, keeps navigation lanes clear, and prevents further deterioration of the abandoned craft.
