Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Removing an old boat in Hartman near Picture Canyon often turns out to be more complicated than expected. Boats may contain fuel, oil, and chemicals that must be drained. The AAA Rousse crew will take down the mast, clear off the gear and electronics, and cut off the flybridge if we have to, to get the job done. Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat owners in this part of southeastern Colorado most often need removal help after vessels are left idle at Two Buttes Reservoir or stranded along Big Sandy Creek following seasonal floods. Deteriorating hulls, expired registrations, and storm damage all push owners toward professional disposal. John Martin Reservoir sees similar patterns, where aging fishing boats and pontoons are abandoned at the ramp each spring.
Waterlogged vessels recovered from Lake Hasty present some of the most involved hauls our crew handles in Prowers County, requiring pumping and rigging before transport. Landside storage cases are equally common, with forgotten boats sitting behind rural properties for years. The Lamar Community Boating Area and surrounding flatland storage lots generate steady call volume as owners finally clear space after decades of neglect.
