Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in Helvetia near the Kaskaskia River tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Carlyle Lake draws heavy recreational boating traffic, and abandoned or storm damaged vessels left at the Keyesport Boat Launch or along the Kaskaskia River are among the most common removal calls we receive. Owners often discover their boats are no longer seaworthy after sitting through harsh winters, leaving them with a hull that needs professional extraction and responsible disposal.
Closer to town, waterlogged pontoons and deteriorating motorboats are frequently pulled from Horseshoe Lake and Silver Lake, where aging docks and shifting shorelines accelerate hull damage. Crews access many of these sites via Illinois Route 127, coordinating lifts and trailer hauls to ensure vessels are removed without disturbing surrounding property or wetland buffers.
