Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
The reality is that boat removal is often much tougher than it seems for Italy area residents near the Keuka Lake State Park boat launch. Some older vessels often contain asbestos insulation. Our Teams take off the masts, clear out the boat’s gear and electronics and cut off the flybridge if needed. Larger boats usually need to be crushed or demolished before a landfill will take them - and our team takes care of that process. You just sit back - AAA Rousse takes care of the rest.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal situations near Italy often begin when a vessel is left unattended at a seasonal access point on Waneta Lake or the adjoining Lamoka Lake. Owners sometimes abandon watercraft at the end of summer, leaving boats partially submerged or blocking shared launch areas. Yates County code enforcement then coordinates removal notices and, if necessary, arranges for towing at the owner's expense.
In other cases, storm damage along Outlet Road causes trailers to become disabled before owners can retrieve their boats from the water. A vessel may also be found adrift and tied informally to the Tyrone town dock without registration documentation. In both situations, owners are given a set notice period to reclaim the boat before it is removed and stored pending resolution.
