Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
You might think it's easy, but removing a boat in Nelsonia near Pitts Wharf can be tricky. Limited disposal sites are always a problem. Our crew dismantles the mast, removes all equipment and electronics from the vessel, and, if necessary, detaches the fly bridge. Because landfills don’t accept most large vessels in one piece, some prep work is required. We manage the entire process for you, so your boat is ready for disposal without any hassle. Boat removal made simple.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal calls in this part of the Eastern Shore often begin at Onancock Wharf, where aging workboats and recreational vessels are left behind when owners can no longer afford upkeep. The tidal flats along Pungoteague Creek also see frequent abandonments, as watermen retire and estates settle. Trailering a waterlogged hull out of soft marsh ground requires equipment and experience most owners simply do not have.
Further north, derelict vessels sometimes surface near the public ramp at Greenbackville, creating hazards for active boaters and drawing code complaints from neighbors. Sunken or partially swamped hulls along Pocomoke Sound add another layer of complexity, requiring pump out and rigging before any haul can begin. AAA Rousse handles each of these recoveries from first contact through final eco conscious disposal.
