Facing Issues with an Old, Deteriorated, or Abandoned Boat
Removing an unwanted boat in Sheffield takes a professional crew to do it right. Old boats frequently have rotten wood, rusted parts, or brittle fiberglass near channels like Hatch Slough. Professional crews know how to dismantle and dispose of them correctly without injury or contamination. Local restrictions, towing logistics, and disposal regulations can slow down boat removal.

Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Parting with an old boat in Sheffield along the Tennessee River isn’t always a simple task. EPA guidelines for fuel, oil, and hazardous waste must be followed. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Most larger vessels cannot be accepted at landfills unless they are crushed or demolished. Let our AAA Rousse experts handle the entire process.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals in Sheffield most often begin with vessels stored in backyards or on lifts along the Elk River, where owners call for trailering assistance after a season ends or a hull is damaged beyond easy repair. The Montgomery Avenue corridor sees regular hauls as well, with crews navigating residential streets to reach properties backing up to local coves and tributary inlets.
Watercraft left at Cox Creek boat launch area also generate frequent calls, particularly after flooding events push jon boats and pontoons off trailers or onto embankments. Wilson Lake draws many Colbert County anglers, and when motors fail or hulls take on water far from a ramp, our team coordinates recoveries along its northern shoreline near the Hightower Road access points common to Sheffield boaters.
