Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
The process of getting rid of a junk boat in St. James along River Road is often more challenging than it first appears. Boats partially sunk are extremely difficult to lift, float, and tow. Our work also includes removing masts, stripping out electronics, and, if necessary, reducing the flybridge. Larger vessels often require demolition or crushing before they can be disposed of at a landfill. We take care of this step for you, making the entire removal and disposal process smooth and stress-free. AAA Rousse - we do it all, so you don’t have to.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal calls near St. James often start with vessels left to deteriorate along the Bonnet Carre Spillway levee access areas or sunk at the edges of Lake Pontchartrain. Owners who have not used their boats in years frequently discover registration issues that complicate a simple sale, pushing them toward professional removal. Encroaching vegetation and soft ground make access particularly demanding in low lying areas near the spillway.
Other common scenarios involve vessels dry docked on private property along the Gramercy Industrial corridor or partially submerged near the Blind River boat ramp. Estate settlements and storm damage are frequent triggers, leaving families with boats they cannot move without heavy equipment. In each case our crews assess weight, hull condition, and water access before committing to a safe haul and responsible disposal plan.
