Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Disposing of an aging boat in Hartsel near Spinney Mountain Reservoir often becomes challenging. Lead paint and other toxic materials require special handling. Our crew dismantles the mast, removes all equipment and electronics from the vessel, and, if necessary, detaches the fly bridge. Landfills generally can’t take larger vessels unless they’re first crushed or demolished. Sit back and let the AAA Rousse team handle it all.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around Hartsel most often starts at Spinney Mountain State Park or Eleven Mile State Park, where aging vessels are abandoned at launch ramps after motors fail or registrations lapse. Owners also leave deteriorating fishing boats moored on Antero Reservoir, where high altitude winters accelerate hull damage and make seasonal recovery a recurring challenge for our crews.
Waterlogged hulls pulled from the South Platte River near Hartsel require specialized rigging given the remote terrain and limited road access. Properties along US-24 frequently have old boats left in open fields or behind outbuildings, and Hartsel Ranch area landowners regularly call us to haul neglected vessels that have sat unused for years and have become an eyesore or safety hazard.
