Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in St. Joseph tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required, particularly for recoveries staged from St. Joseph Landing. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removal around St. Joseph most often starts with vessels left idle along the Tensas National Wildlife Refuge corridor, in low lying sloughs off Old River Lake, or tied to private docks on Lake Bruin. Owners discover the hull has taken on water or the trailer has sunk into soft ground, making a standard tow impossible and requiring a full recovery operation.
A second common scenario involves craft that have sat in open fields or roadside properties along Sicily Island Road following flood events that pushed them off the water entirely. Teams also respond to calls from anglers who find abandoned jon boats wedged along Bayou Cocodrie and need them cleared before the season opens. Each situation demands different rigging and permits.
