Safe and Responsible Boat Disposal
Unwanted boats in Waterproof tend to be more complicated to remove than expected. Specialized cranes or barges may be required, especially for recoveries on Old River. Our team takes down the mast, removes the boat’s equipment and electronics, and cuts off the flybridge if needed. Since most landfills can’t take larger boats as they are, they need to be crushed or dismantled first. Don’t worry - our team takes care of that for you, making the whole process simple and stress-free. Relax - we’ve got it handled.
Common Boat Removal Scenarios
Boat removals around Waterproof most often begin at deteriorating docks along Lake St. John, where vessels left after flooding become navigation hazards requiring crane extraction. Owners surrendering abandoned craft stored at Deer Park Landing face similar challenges, as shifting sediment and seasonal high water complicate haul outs. Sunken hulls along the Mississippi River oxbow cutoffs are also a recurring request.
Estates settling property near Poverty Point Reservoir sometimes discover forgotten aluminum boats or rotting wooden hulls that need full dismantling before land can transfer. Fishing camps along Catfish Bayou frequently call for pontoon removal after storm damage leaves decking unsafe. In each case our crews assess weight, access, and water depth before mobilizing the correct lift or barge equipment for a clean removal.
